There are two types of wireless converters available to transform your decorative doorbell into a wireless decorative doorbell:

  • Honeywell Wireless Converter (Model# RPWL3045A1003/A)
Honeywell wireless converter is a device that connects to a standard wired doorbell and is mounted on inside wall of your home. There is no button to replace, which means that the doorbell button will look how it appears on the product page. The converter measures 3 1/2" H by 1 1/4" W but requires only a small hole to be drilled in the wall, big enough for a thin wire. Transmission range between this device and a compatible chime is up to 400 feet (depending on the chime).

  • Nutone Wireless Converter Button (Model# PB78LWHCL)
Nutone wireless converter button replaces the standard wired doorbell button that comes with the doorbell and is a white button with a clear rim. This is the only color option available with this converter. All of the electronics are inside the button, and it will send a transmission signal to compatible door chimes. The wireless version of these converted doorbells will have the white button with the clear rim around it, regardless of what is displayed as the product image. Product images only display the wired version of the doorbell. This button requires a hole 3/4" Diameter by 3 1/2" Deep. Transmission range between button and chime varies depending on the chime.

3. Chime & Converter Frequencies

  • Honeywell Wireless Converter (Model# RPWL3045A1003/A)
Programming is necessary for Honeywell Converter chimes. The chimes need to be programmed to "learn" the frequency of its compatible door chime upon installation. There is about a 30 second window to program a chime. During this time, you can program multiple buttons to the same chime or you can program 1 button to 1 chime if you have multiple chimes so that each button is programmed to each individual chime and the buttons will only activate the chimes to which they have been programmed to the same frequency. Simple instructions are included with the chime.

  • Nutone Wireless Converter Button
There are a possible 8 different frequencies. So, if you want to have multiple buttons that each activate a different chime, you can do this by simply programming the frequency on the button to match the frequency of the chime. You can program up to 8 different frequencies so that if you have multiple buttons and chimes, the buttons will only activate the chimes to which they have been programmed to the same frequency. Easy instructions are included. Simple instructions are included with the chime.
